Capture leads: auto-capture vs. click-capture
Besides Proofly own collector widgets, you can capture data from forms and elements that already exist on your website. You set this up in the Data tab of a notification, and there are two automatic methods.
Auto-capture
Auto-capture reads submissions from a form that is already on your page. When a visitor submits that form, Proofly captures the data automatically — no extra fields for the visitor to fill in. Use it to turn your existing signup or checkout form into a source of conversions.
Click-capture
Click-capture grabs data when a visitor clicks a specific element, identified by a CSS selector. This is useful when there is no form — for example capturing a click on a "Buy now" or "Book" button.
Which to choose
Have a form already? Use auto-capture.
Want to track a button or link instead? Use click-capture with its selector.
Tip: captured data can feed a Latest Conversion widget and be forwarded to your CRM — so a single form submission becomes both social proof and a synced lead.
