Notifications are not showing!

Not seeing your notifications appear on your website? Don't worry — in almost every case it comes down to a setting that is switched off, a filter that does not match, or a pixel that is not installed correctly. Work through the checklist below from top to bottom and you will usually find the cause within a minute.

1. Check that everything is switched on

Proofly has two on/off switches that both need to be on:
The campaign (domain) toggle in your dashboard
The individual notification toggle inside that campaign

If either one is left off, nothing is served for that page.

2. Make sure the pixel is installed

Your notifications are delivered by the Proofly pixel — a small piece of JavaScript that must be placed right before the closing </head> tag of every page you want notifications on. Open the Installation tab of your campaign, copy the pixel code and paste it into your site (or use the WordPress plugin or Shopify app). Without the pixel, Proofly cannot load.

3. Check your URL filters

Each notification only shows on the pages that match its URL rules (the Triggers tab). If you set a rule, the current page URL has to match it. The available match types are:
Exact — the full URL must match exactly (e.g. https://domain.com)
Contains — the URL contains a piece of text (e.g. /product/)
Starts with — the URL begins with the text
Ends with — the URL ends with the text
Page contains — a piece of text is present somewhere on the page

A common mistake is an Exact rule that differs by a trailing slash or http versus https. If in doubt, switch to Contains or enable showing on all pages to test.

4. Domains & subdomains

Proofly checks the domain that loads the pixel against your campaign domain. If your notifications run on a subdomain (like shop.domain.com), turn on Include subdomains for the campaign. With it off, only the exact domain and its www variant are allowed.

5. Targeting & display conditions

Country targeting — if you selected specific countries, visitors elsewhere will not see the notification. Leave it empty to show worldwide.
Show on mobile — make sure this is on if you are testing on a phone (screens under 768px).
Display trigger — a delay, scroll percentage or exit-intent trigger means the notification only appears after that condition is met. Give it a moment, scroll down, or move your mouse to the top of the window.
Once per session — if enabled, the notification will not show again in the same browser session. Open an incognito window to re-test.
Minimum activity — counters (like Live Visitor Counter and Conversions Counter) stay hidden until there is enough activity to display, so they never show a lonely "0".

6. Impression limit

Every plan includes a monthly impression allowance. Once you reach your limit, notifications stop being served until the counter resets at the start of the next month — or until you upgrade your plan. You can see your usage on your dashboard.

7. There is simply nothing to show (yet)

Data-driven notifications need data. A Latest Conversion or Conversions Counter stays hidden until at least one conversion has been collected, and a Testimonial Showcase needs at least one review. Add some data (or send a test conversion) and the notification will appear.

Still stuck? Clear your website cache — many hosts and caching plugins serve an old version of your page without the pixel — then hard-refresh with Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R. If it still does not work, contact our support team with your campaign name and the exact page URL and we will take a look.
